RECENT ROUNDUP 13/07/2016

Have not been out for nearly three weeks now, due mainly to the weather and family commitments, so these images were taken around home and the birds were from a trip to De Lank Water Works on Bodmin Moor.
Just hope things start to improve over the coming weeks.

Hi Folks, could anyone please help me to Identify this plant, I have scoured books and on-line but cannot find anything like it.
Found it at St Gothian Sands NR Godrevy, any help would be greatly appreciated.

DALMATIAN PELICAN 16/06/2016

Popped over to Point Quay at Devoran this morning overlooking Restronguet Creek, where the Dalmatian Pelican seems to have relocated from the west of the County.
This is the third attempt to try and get some decent images of this bird, arrived in thick fog,which started to lift after about 30 mins and located the Pelican quite a way out on the creek. I was using the 400mm lens with the 1x4 extender added still not the greatest of images but much better than any I got previously.

FULVOUS WHISTLING DUCK & WHITETHROAT 17/05/2016

A couple of images from Sunday morning,started off at St Gothian Sands where a Fulvous Whistling Duck had been reported, although this is a possible escapee it was still worth a look. we then proceeded on down to Land's End, and though the Serin was still around other bird activity was almost zero.
So onward to Botallack to see if any Choughs were around, but again we drew a blank, just managed to grab a few shots of an obliging Whitethroat. So all in all not the most productive of mornings, but as they say that's birding.

SERIN & OTHER BITS 11/05/2016

Popped down to Land's End on Wednesday morning for a second look for the Serin thats been there for a few days. arrived in thick fog and a very cold N/W wind, after a couple of hours it finally showed up in a horse paddock by Swingates house.
This was a lifer for me and the couple of shots in the set below were the best I could get under the conditions.

SNOWY OWL ( ST JUST ) 04/04/2016

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but have not done much birding, having been away for a week in North Wales and then had pc problems for the last week.
Anyway did manage to get down to St Just on Monday afternoon for the Snowy Owl that turned up there. This must be the moat photographed bird in Cornwall at the moment.
Still it is a beauty.

BULLFINCH, CHAFFINCH & ROBIN 26/02/2016.

Had a new visitor to the garden feeders this week,this beautiful male Bullfinch turned up on Wednesday afternoon and visited the niger seed feeder 5 times, it then left and I have not seen it since.
Still getting all the regulars such as the Chaffinch and Robin as well as the local family of House Sparrows.
