Sorry for the lack of posts over the last few weeks, I have been out a few times but not much in the way of different species  to put on.
The times I have been out the weather has been warm and sunny but always a brisk wind has been blowing, which is not good when you are trying to photograph small insects blowing around on flower heads.
So a few of the latest efforts are  below and hope July will  bring more out.

HARLEQUIN LANDYBIRD ST GOTHIAN SANDS NR 04/06/2015

Hi all this is the Harlequin Ladybird which arrived in the UK in 2004, lovely looking but has a bit of a reputation as a predator.
The Ladybird Survey is asking that any sightings in the UK are reported, I have just submitted this one.

A few images taken during trips out in the past week. I Have managed a few new species I find this  very interesting because there are thousands to find and identify.

There are two species of this Hoverfly which mimic the Red-Tailed and White -Tailed Bumble Bee.

This is also a new species.

1st Summer Male Sardinian Warbler at Lands end on Sunday Morning, this is the best I could get of about 10 shots.

ST GOTHIAN SANDS 07/05/2015

Paid a visit to St Gothian Sands NR  yesterday morning. good to see some fine weather for a change.
Not much happening on the Bird front, so decided to see what I could find on the insect front, plenty of common flies around and a few not so common species.
The best of the morning for me was my first images of an Orange Tip Butterfly, and the Ichneumon Wasp was a first also.
So all in all a very enjoyable few hours and hope the weather continues to warm up and bring  out more insects for the lenses.

WEEK ENDING 30/04/2015.

Just a quick round up of a few trips from the last week to Marazion, Hayle and Falmouth,as this morning I am going down to the Lizard to set up our annual Ham Radio Station at the Marconi Museum on Bass Point to commemorate Marconi's  birthday.
Would you believe it wind and rain are forecast, so could be an interesting few hours putting up 30ft masts in those conditions.
Anyway I will give an update next week as to how things go, so  The images below were all taken on various trips to the above places during the past week.
