Made three trips down to Marazion this week as the Alpine Swift has still been around and it was a lifer for me, anyway caught up with it on Thursday 25th March but to far away for any pics. So the forcast was good for this morning so arrived again at 7am until 09.15 but no sign of it, still I did manage to get a couple of shots of the Water Pipit which is not a common bird. Next it was off to St Gothian Sands at Gwithian for a walk around the reserve, nothing very exciting except for a very obliging Skylark, also there were three Lapwing on the island. Finally I stopped off at Hells Mouth to see if the Fulmars were doing their fantastic flying and gliding display and I was not disapointed.
So all in all it was a very pleasent morning, bumped into a few friends and had a natter which has to be a bonus.

ReplyDeleteLike Mark, the Skylark and the Fulmars look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you getting back into the swing of things.
Hope to bump into you soon.
John.
Superb shots, I find Fulmars difficult.

Always a delight to see your bird pictures, the Fulmars are exceptional.
ReplyDeleteI saw my first Spring Robin yesterday, I managed to get a couple of pictures but I'm not too pleased with the way they came out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Sunny :)
Well done Monts. Love the Fulmars and I must confess my flight shots are very poor which makes me appreciate others. We ..Angie and myself... had a replica shot of the Skylark on the post at Gwithian's last year. Sorry to read about your recent loss of Emma.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Monty. Love the Fulmars in flight. They are so hard to capture; they move so fast, so I always give up!
ReplyDeleteSkylark singing and floating Fulmars, what more could you want Monty. Weather pretty aweful here so little opportunity to shoot anything.
