MONO MONDAY (SEA CAMPION)

I remembered  I did take a image on Saturday with a view to using it on a Mono Monday post. this Sea Campion was growing on top of a bank, and was very nicely isolated from the background.

FINALLY A SHORT LIVED WEATHER BREAK.

Finally had a break in the weather yesterday morning after Northerly winds and rain which seems to have lasted forever.
So got off nice and early to Marazion for a wander around the marsh and beach area to see what migrants had arrived, I was hoping to get Whimbrel, House Martin, Swift and Sedge Warbler.
Would you believe I had all four within 15 minutes, although images of the Swifts and House Martins were impossible with the speed they were flying around.
There were also a number of male species singing although they were still very edgy and not hanging around when approached.
Still managed to get a few pics which made a pleasant change.
On the way back home I called into St Gothian Sands at Gwithian and walked around the reserve but did not find any different arrivals, still it was good to get out once again.
So I have put up a few images from yesterday and have kept a few more for a later post as the weather is not looking good for the next few days with more Northerlies and heavy rain.
I do not have anything new for Mono Monday tomorrow so will troll the archives to see what I can come up with.

MONO MONDAY (THE LONG GRASS).

So here we are again back putting a long overdue post on the blog, the reason I have not been posting is because my Wife and myself have been away for a weeks break to East Yorkshire.
We stayed in Hull and visited the beautiful cities of York and Lincoln, also spent a day in Scarborough. We really enjoyed visiting all the historic places of interest even though the weather was not the best with wind and rain always a threat.
We arrived back late on Friday evening, then Saturday was spent at Bass Point on the Lizard working the Amateur Radio station for International Marconi Day. Sunday was spent doing catch up jobs.
So back to Mono Monday, and I took this image just before we went away, and I feel it portrays the Windy and Cold day it was at St Gothian Sands.

SPRING (LET THE BATTLES COMMENCE).

Took a drive down to St Ives this morning to see if the Ring Ozel's were still around, but after an hour searching nothing found.
So decided to head back to St Gothian Sands, hoping to find some Spring arrivals but again my luck was out.
I did find these two Moorhens having a big territorial squabble and managed to get a few shots, though not the best as they were out in the middle of the reeds though they do show the ferocity wildlife can resort to at this time of year.

JUST HAD TO POST SOMETHING.

Really felt I had to put some images up today, so here are three from the last two weeks when I got out with the camera. Not the best I have taken so will have to step my efforts up next time, and will get Mono Monday back on line again.

VIRUS DRIVES ME MAD.

Hi all sorry for the lack of posts over the last two weeks, but computer wise things have not been good. Two weeks ago I had an E Mail from a family member with a link to a website which I opened, but it was a virus that had entered their system and redistributed its self to all their contacts.
Tried all things to get rid of it but it kept multiplying its self so finally had to format the hard drive. To cut the saga a little short I had to re format three times as the system kept crashing, and could not find out why.
So called in a friend and after a lot of checking tracked it down to a faulty CD IDE Rom drive which is now out of the system (Thanks Geoff).
So hopefully things will now get back to normal, and will try to get around to looking at all your blogs again soon.
Do not have any new images to post as I am still sorting out my software but will get back as soon as possible, although things will be a bit sparse for the next couple of weeks as I have other things planned.
