INSECT FEST STITHIANS RES 19/06/3013

Well at last I have managed to get a post on, sorry for the long delay again, but this was due to a bereavement in the family. My wife's mother passed away two weeks ago, and the funeral did Not take place until last Monday so things seem to have been in limbo for a long time.
Anyway she was 93 years young and active right up to the day before she passed away in her sleep after a short admission to hospital.
So on to other topics, I did manage to get out on Wednesday morning with a trip up to Stithians Res, and though there were very few birds visible there was quite a lot of insect activity so spent a very enjoyable couple of hours poking around in the undergrowth.
Although still a novice at knowing what some of the insects are I do enjoy trying to identify them and this takes me a long time trolling through various books, and some only have Latin names so may not always be correct. (Still if you don't try you don't learn ).

MOTHS & FLY 10/06/2013

The moths were from last night, very poor results only three Moths and one Cockchafer Beetle.
The flesh fly is from an outing this morning to the moors in West Cornwall, looking for Warblers, but it was so cold and windy nothing was showing.
Hope it gets better again soon.

MOTHS & THINGS 03/06/2013

Hi folks sorry for the lack of posts and comments lately, I have been very busy with some out door jobs which are taking up a lot of my time.
Anyway did get the Moth trap out a couple of nights ago and managed a few species, the first two images are a new species for me, and the Popular Hawkmoth and Purple Clay are firsts in the trap.
I still have quite a bit of work to do so posts may be a bit sparse so please bear with me.
I am having a night off tonight and I am off with a friend Brian to the moors down west looking for Nightjars and Grasshopper Warblers, I don't think there will be any images as it will be almost dark when they become active, still I have the 2 million candle power light so that should make em blink a bit.
