CARNON VALLEY NR 15/07/2014

Spent a nice couple of hours at Carnon valley NR yesterday morning, the object of the visit was to try and find Greyling Butterflies which are local to the area. Insect activity was very quiet and it took me quite a long time to locate a solitary Greyling which was very active and difficult to Photograph.
I also had a few other species which are included in the post, I was really pleased with the Labyrinth  Spider which I found on a patch of heather, and managed to coax out of its hole by tickling its web with a piece of grass.

A few images from a couple of trips during the last week, at last the warm weather is bringing a few species around.
So hopefully the rain forecast for the next couple of days will not put a damper on the activities.
